We started Lux as a way to support survivors of all types of sexual violence. We know how challenging the legal process is, on top of how debilitating personal recovery is. Lux exists to hopefully make the process after sexual violence a little bit easier. We know nothing can change what happened to you, but we can try to make your burden just a bit lighter.

Our organization and website are living entities continually growing. Here are some disclaimers about our website and what you might find on it.

Lux means light in Latin. When we were starting our organization and choosing a name, nothing felt more fitting than the idea of bringing light to an incredibly dark – stigmatized, under-resourced, wrongfully shameful – field. This quote from Chanel Miller’s book “Know My Name” encompasses exactly what our hopes are for Lux.
